Well this was the one that started it all. As mentioned elsewhere, it was originally called "Fuck the Bitches Weekend." A fight against the tyranny of that Hallmark Holiday - Valentines Day. Armed with free moves and a quarter barrel of Sam Adams a few people got together to do something great.
We wanted to recreate that part of a party where you don't have to do jack-shit. Ohh, to just sit around a TV, getting drunk with friends and watching good movies.
Still it was a begining. A few of the now well in place traditions weren't quite there yet. Mid-Saturday, there was a run to KFC for food. There were shots of Jagermeister as well as feats of drinking dextarity. We even watched Apocalypse Now (what happened to the dog?).
However, the main idea was there. Even then we knew we stumbled onto something good, because before the first Slackers Weekend was over we had planned to do it again.
This is the weekend it was named Slackers.
